It is very sweet and aromatic with a floral mint/oregano and pine flavour.
It grows into a compact shrub with miniature dark green leaves which turn silver in summer and grows fragrant pink blooms.
Not to be confused with ‘sweet marjoram’ which has white blooms and larger leaves.
Can be used like oregano in cooking either fresh or dried in marinates, sauces and other cooked dishes.
